Life Imitates Comic Books
According to various news reports, a masked crimefighter has appeared in the small English town of Tonbridge Wells, southeast of London. The daring avenger foiled a purse-snatching and scared off a gang of hooligans menacing two young women. Onlookers said his caped and masked appearance alarmed the assailants, who ran off, leaving the purse (because, as all Batman fans know, criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot...).
